Thanks to all who did such a great job organizing the 2006 Conference / Reunion and to all the members who attended! While the enjoyment and camaraderie of the conference / reunion is still fresh in our minds, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 2008 AFMA Conference / Reunion, to be held at the Antlers Hilton Hotel located in beautiful downtown Colorado Springs, CO, August 6 – 9, 2008.
This will be an exciting and memorable event that is not to be missed! Mark your calendars now and look for more information in upcoming issues of your CODA Newsletter, as well as on our Web site, www.afmusic.org.
The highlight of this reunion will be a joint concert with the Air Force Academy Band and conference / reunion attendees, so fair warning - you have two years to get your “chops” in shape! The conference / reunion will begin with a kick-off gathering at the Flying 'W' Ranch, complete with a very entertaining musical show, and it will conclude on Saturday evening with the traditional farewell banquet. Other musical events are being planned and there will be opportunities to enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains and western hospitality beneath blue skies, sunshine, and mountain air.
The Antlers Hilton, located at 4 South Cascade Ave., has set aside a block of rooms for the conference / reunion at the discounted and guaranteed rate of $129 + tax. When you call to make your reservations, be sure to identify yourself as an AFMA member and state that you will be attending the Air Force Musicians Association Conference / Reunion.
